More than 300 people from all over the Region and from other autonomous communities have known the potential of studying at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The UPCT has shown this Saturday its facilities and services and the professional potential, researcher and entrepreneur of its students with a fair and guided tours of its centers to more than 300 pre-university students and their families.
Visitors have come from Cieza, Murcia, San Javier, Santomera, Alhama, Lorca, Fuente Alamo, Molina de Segura and Torre Pacheco, among other municipalities in the region.
In addition, the Polytechnic of Cartagena has received visits from families from other parts of Spain such as Orihuela, Móstoles and Seville.
The technology fair, open to all citizens, has been visited in one of the yards of the Industrial School.
The competition vehicles designed, manufactured and piloted by the UPCT students can be seen in it, as well as the autonomous car with which the UPCT is developing a robotic model of driving to suit its passengers.
The most leading laboratories of the Polytechnic have also been exhibited at the fair with their most impressive equipment, offering the visitor the perspective of the researcher.
Thus it has been possible to observe in artificial vision the growth of plants, thanks to the Institute of Plant Biotechnology, or to glimpse the human warmth in the thermographic cameras of the Service of Support for Technological Instrumentation, which has also taught an electronic magnifying glass.
The visitors have taken a personalized souvenir photo, with the instant print robot Fun Photos created by a researcher from the Polytechnic.
In the same way, it has been explained what is the Network of Chairs of companies of the UPCT, in addition to the possibilities of paid internships in R + D + i projects;
or of scholarship opportunities and international relations.
The visitors who have wanted it, have been able to complement the tour with visits to interpretation centers in Cartagena, in order to better understand the port city.
DONATION OF 200 EUROS
The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has collected during the Open Door Day about 200 euros in two hours for the Association of Celiacs of Murcia (Acmu).
The collection has been delivered at the end of the morning to the Association of Celiacs of Murcia.
The 200 euros were raised during a solidary breakfast, sponsored by Cafés Pérez-Campos and served by the international students of the ISN association who attend this semester at the UPCT.
Currently, the association is made up of 800 celiacs.
In the same organize various workshops on cooking and food, in addition to courses on food labeling, or workshops to handle emotions for young people.
As a novelty, this course is carrying out a campaign with Health to train restaurants and to integrate safe gluten-free menus into their menus.
They are also offering talks at educational centers.
The ESN Cartagena association is responsible for the integration of students who arrive in the city through international mobility programs.
It is formed mainly by students who have studied part of their studies abroad.
Among his lines of work are social volunteering actions.
They carry out various actions in favor of people with disabilities and promote the values ​​of multiculturalism.
