The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has met with the president of the Association of Neighbors of Mediterranean Urbanization, Sebastián García, and other members, to collect their needs and analyze the situation of this population.
The works of the second phase of the San Antón health center occupied a good part of the meeting;
in the opinion of this association, the continuous delays for more than a decade have so tensed the nerves of all neighborhood groups in the area, that nobody believes the new deadlines set by the Ministry, and do not rule out new protests if the works they paralyze again.
Although the pediatric service is already operational and that has lightened the previous center, the neighbors consider that time passes and users still have to go to a small and obsolete infrastructure that does not support the number of booklets that exist.
One of the members of this association said that he expects the Ministry of Health to be clear that it is necessary to increase the workforce, since otherwise the future center will not cover the demand for assistance.
In response to questions from the Citizens' spokesperson, the neighborhood president, Sebastián García, has reported that he finds "interesting" the proposal of the president of the Association of Residents of San Antón, Asensio Albaladejo, that the building of the current center on Calle Recoletos be destined to the creation of a new seat of Civil Protection.
The neighbors of Urbanization Mediterranean regretted that certain investments committed by the local government have not yet arrived.
They made an express reference to the lack of asphalting in busy streets such as Gema and Turquesa, the works of adaptation in the plaza annexed to the works of the new health center, and the installation in this space of children's games.
"Here are several winning projects of participatory budgets that have not yet been executed, and those investments chosen by the neighbors are sacred."
Another one of the most outstanding subjects was the works of adaptation of clothes in the Stage of Mediterranean Urbanization Soccer that the City council initiated the past 4 of April.
The orange spokesman visited the facilities of the sports complex to supervise together with the president of the Sports Club, Luis Buendía, these works that have a deadline of one month and a total budget of 72,598.12 euros, "we said that starting from now on we will intensify the control of the municipal works, as a consequence of previous nonsense, such as the submarine roundabout, the security measures in the Atalaya Castle or the adaptation of the CATAD cheniles ".
"We hope with the Government to meet this time with the deadlines and technical conditions provided by the sheet and we warn you that we will be vigilant, today we are very aware that this sports complex has many other needs, and I think Cartagena deserves a sports space of first level that we can achieve here if there is political will ".
Manuel Padín referred to the need to create an administrative office, an adequate space for the store, and a laundry, "we are talking about minimal resources for a sports center that promotes sports and values of improvement in 400 kids of Cartagena."
The spokesman for Citizens has taken good note of all the needs and claims that have made him come in this visit and has committed to studying the possibility of resolving each and every one of them through his Group.
