President Fernando López Miras was named Brother of Honor of the Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara in Cartagena, with whose older brother, Víctor Javier Navarro, met today at the Palacio de Aguirre to see first-hand the set of activities planned by this group to celebrate, from tomorrow and until next April 28, its Cultural Week commemorating the 341 anniversary of the Patronage of Cartagena and the XI anniversary of the Refoundation of the Brotherhood.
Within that Cultural Week, tomorrow will take place the awards ceremony of the Literary Fair of San Ginés de la Jara in the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena.
On Saturday a solemn mass will be celebrated and then the delivery of distinctions will proceed.
Throughout the next week the IX San Ginés de la Jara Football Tournament will be held, as well as other musical and cultural activities, as well as a food solidarity collection.
At the end of this meeting, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Javier Celdrán, conveyed his congratulations to groups that like this brotherhood "are involved with cultural heritage, with maintaining traditions and the legacy we have," in this case in Cartagena with activities such as those organized in its Cultural Week.
