'Medea' of Eurípedes, has opened this Wednesday 18 April, the XXIII edition of the Festival of Greco-Roman Theater that is celebrated in Cartagena.
The Torres Park Auditorium has been the setting for the interpretation of the group El Aledo Teatro, from Cádiz.
The festival is organized by IES Jiménez de la Espada and the Asdrúbal Association, and with it the Department of Culture of the city of Cartagena, whose mayor, David Martínez, has come to inaugurate this edition of the festival.
The performances will conclude on Thursday, April 19.
This cultural activity can be enjoyed by almost 3,000 students, who come from the Region of Murcia, as well as the neighboring autonomous communities, such as Andalusia, the Valencian Community and Castilla la Mancha.
The purpose of the celebration of the Greco-Latin Theater Festival is for young people to enjoy classical works.
At 5:00 p.m. on this Wednesday, April 18, another classic work, 'Lysistrata', by Aristophanes, will be performed by the Komos group in Valencia.
Finally, on Thursday, April 19, at 12:00 noon, the play 'Orestíada', by Esquilo, will be staged by the group El Aledo Teatro, from Cádiz.
The afternoon of that same day, but at 5:00 p.m., will be the occasion for the children to enjoy 'Aulularia', by Plauto, interpreted by the same theater group, El Aledo.
