The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, plans to attend on Thursday, April 19, the delivery of diplomas to students of the National University of Distance Education (UNED) of Cartagena who have completed their studies in the 2016-2017 academic year.
The ceremony, framed within the commemorative activities of UNED Day, will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the act room of the university center, located on Ingeniero de la Cierva Street.
The UNED commemorates every year its creation, carried out by Decree Law in 1972. On this day the university community performs a series of events to be especially present in society and transmit its outstanding teaching work that reaches more than half million students, making up the largest university in Spain.
For this reason, the University Center of the UNED of Cartagena held on Thursday this act of public recognition to the different estates that make up the university community, such as teachers-tutors who retire after a lifetime dedicated to university teaching, as well as to those who have been serving the institution for 25 years, with diplomas awarded to students who have completed their studies.
The prizes of the photographic and literary competitions convened in 2018 will also be awarded under the theme of Romanticism: impossible love, love disappointment, loneliness, fateful destiny ...
