MC Cartagena will request, during the next Plenary Session of the Corporation to be held on Thursday, the 26th of this month, the approval of a budgetary modification for the contracting of the construction works of a football field 11 of artificial turf in La Palma.
Once this point has been agreed upon, the initiative also contains the request that the councilor of Contracting "initiate, immediately, the procedures for the bidding of said work".
The motion specifies the withdrawal of credits from the following items: 'Tourism Promotion' - 300,000 euros;
'Other Studies and Technical Works' - 76,811.33 euros;
'Other Studies and Technical Works' - 100,000 euros, as well as the transfer of these credits to the item 'Other new investments in infrastructures', with the sum of 476,811 euros.
Soccer field for La Palma
MC Cartagena deputy spokesperson, Isabel Garcia, said that providing La Palma with an artificial turf soccer field "was the most voted proposal in the participatory budgets of 2017", an initiative promoted by García's previous responsibilities in the municipal government .

The works that must be carried out include both the current football field 8, of land area, and the annexed plot, in order to obtain a soccer field 11 artificial turf and, thus, "meet a historical vindication of the residents of La Palma ".
For the extension of the current field it was necessary to carry out an exchange of sports equipment lands, approved by the Local Government Board on May 5, 2017, at the proposal of the mayor, José López, head of the Sustainable Development area.
Despite having the required funding, since the Governing Board of November 10 committed to include in the draft budgets of 2018 the necessary credits for the contracting of the works, for a total amount of 476,811.33 euros, the approval of the municipal accounts has made it impossible to carry out.
Garcia has wished that this motion is not "ignored and disobeyed by the socialist government", as has happened with the initiative approved at the last plenary session in which the Castejón Executive was urged to take the budget amendment to the next Governing Board. undertake the reform of the pool cover of La Aljorra.

Given the failure of the socialist government to respond to the motion approved by the four opposition groups at the last plenary to "urge the municipal government to process, in the next Governing Board, a budget modification to undertake, the reform of the cover of the pool of the Aljorra ", before the problems caused from its opening by the entrance of water inside the building, MC Cartagena will request, next Thursday, that the Plenary Assembly agree a budgetary modification to carry out these works.
As in La Palma, the hiring councilor will also be urged to tender the works as soon as possible.
Specifically, it is proposed that credits be withdrawn from the following items: 'Advertising and Propaganda' - 25,697 euros;
'Meetings, conferences and courses' - 40,000 euros;
'Other studies and technical work' - 40,000 euros;
'Non-managerial staff' - 20,000 euros, as well as the transfer of 145,697 euros to the item 'Buildings and Other Constructions'.
Isabel Garcia recalled that "the project for the replacement of said cover is finished and was approved by the Governing Board on October 27. There was even financing because, in the session of the Governing Board of December 11 , the commitment to include the necessary consignment in the draft budget for 2018 was also approved. "
As in the football field of La Palma, this last point has not been possible because the budget for 2018 has not been approved or even debated.
MC's deputy spokesperson regretted that this motion is necessary because "the government has failed to comply with the mandate of the Plenary and what is worse has failed, once again, the neighbors of Cartagena and, in this case, those of La Aljorra ".
