Throughout Holy Week, the charm of the streets of Cartagena has been enhanced by the celebration of the third Balcony and Façade Beautification Contest.
An initiative of the Mujeres Cofrades Association of Cartagena that already has its winners.
The contest has invited neighbors to take the art to the street colors, symbols and images of the four brotherhoods of the Passion Week Cartagena.
From the city council of Cartagena this initiative is supported by the council member of the Culture Department, David Martínez.
The members of the jury decided to award the first prize, to the balcony of the Plaza del Risueño 9 - 1º, of Antonio Nicolás Lorca, endowed with € 250 and a diploma.
And the second award has fallen on the balcony of the street Jara 24 - 1 º, Antonio Ferrer Giménez, endowed with € 150 and diploma
The contest has also recognized, with two accesit, Rafaela Izquierdo Marín for its decoration in the Plaza del Risueño, 2B - 1º and Rita Agüera Cañavate and Caridad Cañavate Batllé for decorating the balcony of Santa Florentina street, 22 - 1º.
Both gifted with € 50 and diploma.
