The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has announced the approval, today Friday, following the favorable report of the Regional Price Advisory Council, of the proposal presented by the City of Cartagena for the reduction of the water bill.
The measure will be effective on the next receipt, in the corresponding portion of time from its publication by emergency route in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia, which is expected for next week.
"A historic day," stressed the mayor, "in which the Advisory Board itself has issued a favorable report on the request of the City Council, entering to complete a file already quite voluminous with numerous reports of professionals in the field."
Thus, the receipt of an average Cartagena family, with a consumption of about 24 cubic meters, will be reduced by about 8.29 euros, which represents a 15 percent drop in the water rate, which reflected in the receipt, will suppose a saving over 7 percent, since in addition to the water it includes other concepts, like the canon of sanitation and the collection of garbage.
Castejón has also advanced that the work of the municipal government will continue in this line;
and has ensured that now "we are going to sit down with the company to start the process of liquidating the accounts, then we will carry out the control and supervision of the company and we will try to get reductions in other sections".
