The Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, has participated along with the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, at the opening this morning at the Faculty of Business Sciences of the second edition of the SWYP congress (Student Branch, Women in Engineering and Young Professionals), which brings together the branches of students, women and young professionals from all over Spain from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), the professional organization with the most members in the world.
The congress is an annual event of the IEEE (the largest non-profit international technical-professional association whose objective is the promotion of technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity), which this year has organized the branch of the university of Cartagena and that has the collaboration of the Office of Congresses of the City of Cartagena, which manages Cartagena Port of Cultures.
Until Sunday April 15 attendees can enjoy presentations on underwater robotics, industrial digitalization, 4.0 technologies at sea, and entrepreneurship in IoT (the Internet of things), among other papers.
In addition, the students will combine the talks with a program of social, cultural and sports activities in Cartagena.
The first edition of the National Congress of Students, Women in Engineering and Youg Professionals (SWYP) was held in Granada last year, where the branch of the University of Cartagena was chosen as the organizer of SWYP 2018.
