Due to the multiple events that will take place this weekend, from April 13 to 15, in Cartagena the Local Police will deploy a special device to ensure road safety and ensure the proper functioning of the city.
The previous activities will begin on Friday, with the collection of bibs, the children's test of the Route of the Fortresses and the lowering of the flag in the port, which will intensify on Saturday when they will gather in the Historic Center of Cartagena, more than 10. 000 people, between participants in the Route of the Fortresses and the cruise passengers that will arrive that day.
Local Police officers will be responsible for ensuring road safety during the celebration of events.
In this sense it is recommended not to use the vehicle for commuting to the center of the city.
Doing so is advised to avoid the coastal axis that includes El Paseo Alfonso XII and Calle Real, especially on Saturday morning.
In addition, to decongest the urban center and ensure mobility, from 10.30 am the urban transport company ALSA will collaborate with the Route, through special service shuttle buses for family and participants between the city and the goal in the Infantry School of Marina in Tentegorra.
6.200 CRUISERS
The sports event will coincide with the arrival in port of two cruises with more than 3,100 passengers each, during the days of Friday 13 and Saturday 14 April.
For this reason, and due to level 4 of the anti-terrorist alert, the access to the Historic Center will be stopped in a preventive manner from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and police surveillance will be intensified.
From the Local Police regret the inconvenience to the neighbors of the Historic District in the use of their private vehicles, remembering that in no case their mobility is interrupted, but subjected to deviations in some of the sections to use.
These measures will also be extended to next Monday, April 16, since it is expected that 4,541 tourists will arrive in the city.
Also on Sunday, FC Cartagena will face Badajoz at Estadio Municipal Cartagonova starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Local Police, with the influx of vehicles, advises fans who live in neighborhoods or councils to go on foot to the field, share a vehicle or use public transport.
During the meeting, the Local Police will also have a special device to ensure safety and regulate traffic in the vicinity of the stadium for the sake of better road safety.
From the body of the City of Cartagena is requested the cooperation of drivers, who may be affected by cuts and detours in the realization of these sporting and cultural events of such importance for our City.
