The last details about the Route of the Fortresses has been presented this Wednesday, April 11, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, accompanied by the colonel director of the Marine Infantry School 'General Albacete and Fuster' (EIMGAF), Enrique Montero
The mayor highlighted the great acceptance that the 53-km race has throughout Spain.
For its great hardness and its mixed character that makes it very attractive for the combination of asphalt and mountain.
"And why not say it, because of the spectacle along its entire route," remarked Castejón.
Ana Belén Castejón has also wanted to highlight the solidary nature of the event.
For his part, Colonel Enrique Montero, explained that they do not consider increasing the number of numbers, not to massify the test and so that all riders continue to enjoy the route.
As for the small changes in the initial route, Montero explained that, "for technical reasons the section of ascent to the Atalaya Castle has been modified".
Finally, the northwest spur itinerary used in the eighth edition will not be used, instead the northern spur itinerary used in previous editions will be used instead.
As for the profile of the riders in this edition about 3,000 participants come from the Region of Murcia, being 1,613 of Cartagena.
