Reading, Thinking and Imagining comes back with a new program that will develop between April and June with an intense and diversified cultural activity composed of 30 proposals among which we find theater, cinema, music, dance, philosophy, poetry, science or literature with the hallmarks of this program, the gratuity and gender equality among the guests.
The presentation was carried out this morning by the Councilor for Education, Culture and Youth, David Martínez;
and the director of the Ficc and responsible for the programming of the Ficcmoteca, Esther Baeza.
The edile of Culture advanced that the Ficcmoteca, "that has managed to consolidate in a short time like an unavoidable appointment for the lovers of the most recent cinema", will count on five European and Latin American films for the sessions of the Fridays, that will open with 'In body and soul ', winner of the Golden Bear of Berlin in 2017 and will conclude with the Spanish documentary recently released The best day of my life, which will be part of the LGBT Pride acts this year.
In the field of the performing arts three works will be represented.
The first will be El rento, by Vicente Medina and the Jaloque Theater Group;
the second, 3,000 kilometers, from the Theater of Delivery;
and finally we will have the representation of Malas, by Miguel Galindo, interpreted by students of the IES Ben Arabi.
The councilor has reported that within the events of the International Day of Dance, there will be a Dance Gala by the Choreographic Workshops of the Conservatory of Dance of Murcia and that in the field of music, a concert dedicated to Mozart and the opening concert of the Cartagena Folk Festival, on Thursday, June 7 with Castijazz.
Martinez has stated that the Association of Historical Memory has proposed a poetic tribute to Antonio Oliver, which will be included in literature programming along with other literary presentations of narrative and essay.
He also underlined the importance of the contribution of the Cartagena Piensa program, which has programmed a wide range of events around philosophical thought and scientific culture, and that will bring the Luzzy to first-rate scientific writers and essayists, the councilor added.
Finally, Martínez has pointed out that this "diverse and for all, with a high quality and easy access" programming for its gratuity, is possible thanks to the collaboration of many entities and associations to which he has thanked his work, while at the same time has emphasized that these activities are in line with the values ​​that drives "this stage of the Department of Culture," he concluded.
NEW PROGRAMMING OF THE FICCMOTECA: FROM LATIN AMERICA TO EUROPE
For its part, Esther Baeza thanked the work of the Department of Culture and the assistance of the public that has shown the enormous fondness for cinema that exists in Cartagena and has consolidated the Ficcmoteca as a point of reference for cinema within the municipality.
Also, he has made a brief review of the cinematographic works that will be screened during the next weeks.
'En cuerpo y alma' is a Hungarian film of 2017 that will be screened tomorrow, Friday, April 6 at 8:00 pm in the Assembly Hall of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, which according to Baeza is a singular love story among uprooted people who pass through between the real and unreal world.
Also, 'Rara' will be shown on May 4 at 8 pm, a Chilean film that tells the life of Sara, a teenager whose mother lives with another woman, and who faces the changes of her age while trying to understand the world It surrounds you.
The Luzzy will also host the screening of 'Un sol interior' on May 18, a French romantic comedy where Juliette Binoche navigates at age 50 for a sea of ​​amorous entanglements accompanied by a cast of exception.
'The teacher' will be the fourth of the projections that will host the Luzzy.
It is a Slovak film that will be screened on June 8 and deals with a teacher who is a true reflection of the abuse of power in the corrupt communist system of the former Czechoslovakia.
Finally on June 22 will be exhibited the documentary 'The best day of my life', which is about the stories of 6 people who attend the World Pride that was held in Madrid last year and has just been released.
