The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has denounced that the central government has forgotten Cartagena in the drafting of national budgets that have been presented this morning in the Congress of Deputies.
"The PP has made us again very clear that Cartagena is not only among its priorities, but for them it does not exist.
The document that has been presented this morning in the Congress does not include any item to cover even one of the needs of our municipality, "said the first mayor.
Castejón has explained that no budget has been allocated for the creation of the City of Justice in Cartagena, nor for the regeneration of the Mar Menor, the continuity of the S-80 program or the advance in the arrival of High Speed to the municipality.
On this last issue, the mayor recalled that the Minister of Development assured in a recent visit to Cartagena that the works of the AVE would begin in 2019. "This morning we have been very clear that the minister ĂŤńigo de la Serna follows the trail marked by his predecessors and is dedicated to selling smoke, "he criticized.
The mayor has questioned the role played by the popular group in the City of Cartagena in the writing of these budgets.
"I would like to know the degree of involvement that the local PP has with our municipality, when they are not able to get their superiors to allocate to Cartagena the investments we need to continue growing".
