The Consortium of La Manga, currently formed by the municipalities of Cartagena and San Javier, has demanded that it be integrated into the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The agency, originally, was constituted by the three institutions, but the regional body abandoned it.
The meeting, held this Wednesday, April 4, was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo;
and the general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, as well as other members of the consortium.
The members of the association of public and private entities, non-profit, to improve the services of the Manga del Mar Menor, had among other points to deal with the order of the day the relay of the presidency, now falling into hands of the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo.
The consortium has also reviewed the 2017 accounts to move to discuss those of 2018. On the other hand, the general director of Transport, Coasts and Ports of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, has intervened to speak of the proposal for the coordination of actions related to the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) for La Manga.
Taking advantage of the assistance of the general director of Coasts and Ports, has demanded the integration of the Autonomous Community of Murcia to the Consortium of La Manga.
According to the mayor of Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, this is a demand from the town hall since the agency left the consortium.
"The consortium must be constituted by the three institutions, the city councils of Cartagena and San Javier, as well as the regional administration itself, because many competences depend on them."
