The Santa Florentina Market opens a position, and it is managed by people with autism.
Mercadisflo, which is the name of the establishment, sells typical products of Spanish gastronomy such as: oil from Jaén, legumes, paprika made by Astrade and preserves, among which is the oxtail.
The City of Cartagena supports the labor insertion of people with other abilities, it does from its Department of Equality and Social Services that runs the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
For this reason, the Councilor for Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, has been supporting the project of these young entrepreneurs with his presence in the Santa Florentina Market on Wednesday, April 4.
The councilor stressed that it is an important day because people with disabilities have taken this entrepreneurial initiative, a project that from the city of Cartagena value of "very positive."
The mayor has taken the opportunity to emphasize that the Santa Florentina Market are reviving and posts that were closed open again, as is the case of Mercadisflo.
Gonzalo, Ruge and Enrique are these three boys with autism who demonstrate, with this project, that they are capable of performing a job that helps them to become independent.
With the financial help of their parents, the boys face the challenge of this new job with enthusiasm.
Two of them will be selling in Mercadisflo every day, together with Patri, a manager who will help them, and a third will reinforce the holidays.
The boys have explained that they will sell oil, vegetables, paprika and preserves, among which is the oxtail.
One of the young workers, Gonzalo Díaz, explained that he has had other jobs but with this he intends to earn money to be able to buy what he wants in the Salón del Manga de Cartagena, of which he is very fond.
On the other hand, Torralba has explained that the Cartagena town hall is working to give the value it deserves to the Santa Florentina Market.
Torralba has detailed the projects that are planned, such as the second phase of restructuring of market stalls, parking, and creating 'gourmet' stalls.
