The City of Cartagena has started today April 4 the works of Adaptation of Changing rooms in the Soccer Urbanization Mediterranean Stadium of Cartagena.
The mayor Ana Belén Castejón;
next to the mayor of Deportes, Obdulia Gómez;
and the Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, yesterday visited the facilities of the sports complex, to monitor and explain to the neighbors the development of the actions that have an expected execution period of one month and a total budget of 72,598.12 euros .
Castejón said that residents and players of the Mediterranean Urbanization had long been demanding solutions to the lack of decent costumes on their football field, a need to which "today we respond with the start of these works," he said.
"We continue to fight so that our towns and councils have the facilities they deserve and that they have been denied for too long," the councilor added.
Also, the mayor has indicated that from the government team will continue to seek solutions so that the remaining facilities in this field that are not developed can be executed.
The Board of Local Government of Cartagena, approved on February 23 the necessary modifications of the extended budget of 2017 with the aim of continuing or starting several works of the program of participatory budgets, among which was this project that had been stopped since 2012 and that users had been claiming since then.
The facilities, which are currently diaphanous, without distribution and without use, are on the ground floor of the sports complex, where two changing rooms, male and female, with their respective toilets and showers are going to be built.
The previous report of the project has established several requirements to ensure the safety of people, the welfare of society and the protection of the environment, so once the work is completed the building will have the optimum conditions of functionality, health, as well as several doors for evacuation in case of emergency and protection against fires, among others.
Once the locker rooms are finished, the facilities will have accessibility conditions necessary to guarantee access for people with disabilities, so that of the two toilets, the female toilet will be accessible, as well as the rest of the facilities.
