THE LYCEUM FEMALE CLUB
In 1926, during the reign of Alfonso XIII, a hundred women of the Spanish enlightened bourgeoisie founded in Madrid the Lyceum Club Femenino, a feminist cultural association aimed at defending women's equality and the full incorporation of women into the world of work and education.
This organization had 500 members under the presidency of the relevant pedagogue María de Maeztu, among whom were outstanding figures such as María Goyri, Ernestina de Champourcin and Maruja Mallo.
The work gathers contributions from 17 of the most prestigious members.
