The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has stated that who currently has the responsibility of Cartagena having a City of Justice and that it can be done in a "fast and agile" manner is the government of Spain and the competent ministry.
These statements have been made after the government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, said this weekend that the responsibility of giving a space to build the City of Justice is the City of Cartagena.
For her part, the mayor has indicated that she will not allow "the mayoralty of Cartagena to be blamed" and has warned that the Ministry has the facilities and land to develop this project, at the same time that she has announced that "as soon as have a response from the ministries "will summon the media to say that they have received a response to the needs in terms of administration of justice that Cartagena needs.
The councilor has reported that she has been working on the project since she arrived at the mayor's office, "in silence and with institutional loyalty", and that she has been observing several formulas that her predecessor, José López, had been thinking about, in order to find the most "operational and agile" way to develop this project.
Castejón has indicated that his goal was to carry out "a coordinated work among all administrations in a loyal way at the institutional level" to create an agreement that they could then communicate to the public.
He has also indicated that he has several ideas of the places where this building can be carried out and that he is working with the City Council's technicians on the viability of the sites, at the same time that he has indicated that it is necessary to be "in propose the best location and that a small City of Justice is not born ".
Finally, the mayor recalled that when the PSOE governed in Spain, the Ministry of Defense yielded several military buildings and made them available to the citizens of Cartagena.
