San Pedro, San Juan and Santiago did not miss this Holy Tuesday, March 27, to their appointment every year with the Cartagena.
The three saints starred in the California procession of the Transfers, the most military of all of Holy Week in Cartagena, declared of International Tourist Interest.
At sunset each of the carvings were moved from military facilities, where they remain throughout the year, to the Church of Santa Maria, so that in this way they can leave in procession from the temple on Holy Wednesday, 28 of March.
The saints were accompanied by their commanders, cadets of the academies and soldiers of the garrison, on thrones of 'Cartagenero style', with their lights and flowers.
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, accompanied by councilors of the government team, attended these transfers converted into a procession.
He also highlighted the presence, among other authorities, of the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, the Minister of Defense, María Dolores de Cospedal, the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, and the Government Delegate, Francisco Bernabé.
Santiago Apóstol departed from the facilities of the Military Government after receiving an address from the military commander;
the San Juan Evangelista did it from the old Artillery Park, honoring the artillerymen of the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment 73;
while San Pedro Apóstol began his journey leaving from the Military Arsenal, where previously the admiral chief of the Arsenal gave him permission to 'franco de ría' so that he could leave in procession through the streets of Cartagena
As it has been characteristic, the three processions paraded with order and martial arts through the streets of the Historical Center.
The three saints carried on their shoulders for their portapasos were found in the Plaza de San Sebastián, from where they continued together to the temple of Santa María.
