The Governing Council has agreed to propose the appointment of Joaquín Segado Martínez as president of the Port Authority of Cartagena, replacing Antonio Sevilla Recio, to whom the regional government thanks his work at the head of one of the most prestigious public institutions in the Region of Murcia.
Born in Cartagena in 1978, he has held different councils in the City Council of that town in two stages, from 2003 to 2006 and between 2007 and 2015, period in which he held various responsibilities, such as the Municipal Government Spokesman, Urban Planning Manager and First Deputy Mayor
Between April of 2006 and April of 2007 he was Regional Secretary of Sustainable Development and Protection of the Environment of the regional Government.
