The Association of Residents of the Barrio de la Concepción will host the 19th National Theater Contest of Cartagena Isidoro Maíquez from 9 to 15 April, in which the Algameca Theater Group has organized and selected the works that will be performed during those days and have prepared the work "What the flight took", which will open the contest on April 9 at 9:30 p.m.
The presentation of the contest has been carried out by the mayor of Culture, Education and Youth, David Martinez;
who has been accompanied by two members of the Cultural Association Barrio de la Concepción, Fini Izquierdo and Nati Fuentes.
This contest has been carried out thanks to a grant from the Department of Equality of the City of Cartagena and the collaboration of the area of ​​Culture and attendees can collaborate with a contribution of 2 euros.
The mayor of Culture has explained that this edition of the contest is special because it celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of the actor that gives its name to the contest, so that some statuettes will be distributed as a prize to the winners of this year.
It has also indicated that it will involve cartageneras companies, but also from other cities such as Elche and Valencia, among others.
On Tuesday, April 10, the Teatro Apolo company will represent 'El Cianuro alone or with milk?', "Since we always like that there is always a group from Cartagena," Fuentes said, adding that on Wednesday 11 April will be interpreted 'Baldosas' by Almagra Teatro, "a very funny play in which people will laugh a lot".
On Thursday April 12 will be the turn of the love story 'White Roses' TSC Theater and on Friday April 13 the organization has set a solidarity day, in which attendees can bring products for use at the Food Bank of the Region of Murcia instead of paying the collaboration.
The show that will be performed that day will be 'Siete Critos en el Mar', from Teatro en Construcción.
The last work represented will be Perras on Saturday April 14 of the company Stress Cuatro and on Sunday 15 will take place the Closing Ceremony and the Awards Ceremony, which will be attended by the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez.
