The hall of the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena hosted on Friday afternoon the institutional act Processionist of the Year, in which the Foundation Prize Procession of the Year, chaired by Santiago Díaz, recognized the work and dedication to the Holy Week of Cartagena by Domingo Bastida , in whom the Prize has fallen in this edition.
The event was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
next to the mayor of the area of ​​Youth, Culture and Education, David Martinez, as well as the rest of the representatives of the four Passionist Brotherhoods of the city and military and academic authorities.
After the tribute to Bastida, the traditional gift giving ceremony was given by the attendees, both to the Processionist of this Year and to the Major Nazarene, Mariana Larios, and to the Pregonero de la Semana Santa 2018, Ángel Julio Huertas, who were also in the act.
The event, which was open to the public, featured an adjoining room where the retransmission could be followed through a closed circuit TV.
