The Wssell Municipal Pavilion of Guimbarda hosted this Thursday, March 15, the second part of the XXXVIII School Competition of Sets in the modality of Sports Rhythmic Gymnastics.
The contest had a great success of participation with more than 700 students between 3 and 17 years distributed in 120 groups and representing 23 educational centers and sports facilities.
The objective of this sport is to motivate daily learning and take advantage of the educational values ​​that emerge from the spirit of the competition.
More than 2,500 spectators came to enjoy this show full of music, light, color, paintings and fun.
This competition is part of the School Age Sports program, which is jointly organized by the City of Cartagena and the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region.
The competition, which gave value to the technical and sporting knowledge of the students of the Municipal Schools of Rhythmic Gymnastics, was organized in 7 sports categories: Chupetas, Prebenjamín and Benjamín with hands-free;
Alevín handsfree and hoop;
Infant rope and ball, Junior with clubs and Senior with hoop.
It was directed by 30 technicians specialized in this sport, who valued the good work and the great illusion with which the gymnasts performed their exercises overflowing with satisfaction.
In addition, during the competition there were several exhibitions of rhythmic gymnastics and aesthetic gymnastics of the Rhythmic Club Cartagena and Club San Antón.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, who, together with the judges of the competition and technicians of the Department of Sports, presented the prizes of the competition.
