According to the Minister of the Presidency and Development, UGT has demanded in writing that as the most representative trade union in the Region of Murcia, it is the position that for 7 years, by agreement of the Governing Council, has alternated between UGT and CCOO
After 25 years, CCOO is left outside the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Cartagena with the argument of the Minister of the Presidency and Development that UGT has demanded that it corresponds to them as the most representative union.
The first thing to mention is that by reducing the members of the Board of Directors by modifying the Ports Act, the reduction affected union organizations that until then had 2 representatives, with business representation well represented.
The Governing Council in September 2010 approved that there would be alternation between CCOO and UGT on an annual basis, which we understand was accepted as there were no legal claims against, not satisfying either of the two unions, it was a way to avoid conflict.
On November 27, 2017, for the change in 2018, the change to CCOO was notified in writing as usual.
We are not answered and when we are interested to know what is happening, we are informed verbally by the Minister of the Presidency and Development, which UGT has claimed is theirs only and therefore the change will not be made.
The attempt to confront UGT and CCOO, which are clear that is doomed to failure.
The only responsible for this type of unilateral decisions is the Regional Government in the person of the Minister of the Presidency and Development.
If there was a claim from UGT, they had to notify us in writing and give us a time limit for allegations.
If the change of member is notified, we believe that since November 2017 there was enough time to send us if there was a problem.
Rather it seems that the many discrepancies in the performance of the presidency of the Port Authority have been considered annoying and where there was no conflict, we created to avoid these discrepancies.
We remind that the Port Authority of Cartagena manages public funds, that it is not satisfied in that management and in some decisions of outsourcing services that can be performed by public employees, should be understood as a democratic health practice.
Finally demand to cease this attitude and CCOO enter the Board of Directors as we understand it corresponds.
