The Hall of Councilors of the City of Cartagena has hosted Tuesday the meeting of the Local Safety Board, which has dealt with the security device for the days of Holy Week, which will be very similar to last year in terms of Police Local and National, Civil Guard, Fire and Civil Protection, with nearly 700 troops in total.
The Board was co-chaired by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Government Delegate for the Region of Murcia, Francisco Bernabé, and attended by the Director General of Citizen Security and Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco;
the Councilor for Public Safety, Francisco Aznar;
as well as the high commanders of the bodies and security forces of Cartagena and the Elder Brothers of the Brotherhoods.
The mayor of Cartagena recalled that Easter Cartagena is declared as of International Tourist Interest and provides for the arrival of many visitors and has transferred to citizens the security and tranquility that all administrations will work "hand in hand" to ensure the correct development of these festivities.
Bernabé has indicated that from the government delegation has prepared a device composed of 190 national police and 110 civil guards to "ensure the safety of Cartagena and visitors who come to the city."
"They will take care of all the needs in perfect coordination with the Local Police of the municipality," he added.
For his part, Aznar has indicated with respect to the device of Holy Week that from the point of view of the firemen, the local police and civil protection there will be practically the same number of troops.
The mayor has indicated that there will be 397 troops in terms of Local Police throughout the Holy Week, to which we must add the minimum services, and recalled that 30 processions will be developed in neighborhoods and councils, which will serve the Police Local too.
As for the fire department, there will be a truck with six workers in Plaza San Francisco and will be reinforced with another truck with six more firemen and a light vehicle on both Wednesday and Good Friday.
With respect to the civil protection device, depending on the days, there will be two ambulances and a first aid post in Plaza San Francisco with two rapid intervention vehicles and two personnel transport vehicles.
The mayor has finally indicated that like last year, the Night of Encuentro will have a reinforcement in the Calle del Aire aided by the National Police so that no incident occurs and has remembered that last year there was no incident that highlight.
