The Castilian-La Mancha illustrators Iñaki Tovar and Frenchy have designed a vignette that has been included in the March monthly newsletter published by the Association of Sick and Family Alzheimer, Afal Cartagena and Comarca.
The cartoonists, admirers of graphic comedians Antonio Mingote and Forges, have wanted to contribute selflessly with Afal, capturing in their vignettes the daily life of thousands of patients and family members affected by neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. "We want to collaborate by doing the best we know, draw cartoons "explained Tovar.
Artists have taken the most personal part of their lives to show in their drawings the intergenerational relationships that arise when the disease appears in families.
And is that Alzheimer's has not passed by the life of the enlightened as said Frenchy who has said "hopefully a humble vignette ours could raise awareness of the importance of continuing to investigate this social scourge that invades more and more people every year "
The artists usually collaborate in projects of a social and vindicating nature, collecting social reality in their illustrations, denouncing impositions by majorities, loss of rights, oligopolies and policies without consequences "we want our vignettes to move and make the reader reflect"
Iñaki Tovar and Frenchy collaborate with digital magazines such as La Republica or Indignant Humor and with social platforms such as Stop Evictions, Affected by Hepatitis C and La Marea Naranja among others and for the first time with Afal Cartagena and Comarca because said NGO "struggle for awareness" and for making visible such a cruel and erosive disease for patients, family members, professionals and caregivers ".
