The Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center hosted on March 5 the inauguration of the exhibition "Women in the Objective", a show that will remain there until March 16 and is part of the activities designed by the Department of Equality for the International Women's Day on March 8.
The inauguration was carried out by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the councilor of the area of Culture, Education and Youth, David Noguera;
and the director of the Popular University, José Macián.
The exhibition has the snapshots taken by the students of the Photography Workshop of the Popular University from their own vision, personality and values to give visibility to women and show their social reality.
During the eight hours of training, 17 students and 3 students have been able to analyze the role of women in photography as an object and subject of it, get to know the pioneering and most relevant photographers of contemporary history and reflect on the influence of women images in the construction of our gender identity as well as learning basic notions of photography.
Everyone knows that the image has a great influence on us, every day we see thousands of images that provoke in us multiple emotions: they make us laugh, sometimes cry and sometimes think and reflect.
This sample of 23 images has the objective of making the attendees feel emotions.
In them the students have placed the objective in women as protagonists without stereotypes that limit them.
