On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Air Academy a concert will be held for the benefit of Astus.
The recital will be offered by the Music Unit of La Academia del Aire, which will perform different musical pieces in the municipal auditorium 'El Batel'.
It will be offered next Sunday, March 18.
In the presentation of the concert have intervened that has taken place this morning have intervened the councilman of the area of ​​Culture, Education and Youth, David Martinez;
the colonel director of the AGA, Miguel Iborra;
the president of Astus, Joaquín Barberá;
and by the director of the Music Unit of La Academia del Aire, Captain José Castelló.
The mayor of the municipal corporation, Francisco Calderón, was also present at the presentation.
For the mayor of Culture, David Martinez, is always a source of satisfaction to announce a new musical act in Cartagena, "music is culture with capital letters, and constitutes, from the beginning of humanity, one of the most important events , from which we can enjoy next March 18, thanks to the Music Unit of La Academia del Aire.
Martinez concluded by stating that, it is such his history of the academy, "that Cartagena could not fail to pass the occasion to celebrate with them these 75 years of history."
The mayor has also highlighted the great social work that will be done, "for only 5 euros you can listen to a great concert, and also collaborate with the great work that is done from Astus."
The collection will go to this tutelage association of people with disabilities.
For its part, the director of the music unit, Captain José Castelló, has offered the technical details of the concert.
It will consist of two different parts, the first most symphonic and the second most popular.
CONCERT
In the symphonic part you will hear a pasodoble dedicated to Andrés Moreno, from Cartagena, recently disappeared.
Later, two original works for the band will be heard: 'Hispania', a Spanish fantasy;
and the piece 'The Year of The Dragon'.
The second part will be more popular, where a pasodoble Cartagena will be interpreted by maestro Torres Escribano.
The following pieces will be don soundtracks: 'Planes', where the Eagle Patrol participated;
and 'West Side Story', taking advantage of the centenary of the death of its composer Leonard Bensteis.
The second part will end with the military march 'Aguilas del Aire'.
In the concert of the Municipal Auditorium of El Batel will participate the Lyric-Cultural Association Amigos de la Zarzuela de Cartagena, directed by José Antonio Torres (son of the composer José Torres).
The association will interpret the pasodobles 'Soy Español' and 'Suspiros de España'.
The president of Astus, Joaquín Barbera, has taken the opportunity to thank the collaboration of the Air Academy and congratulate them for their 75th anniversary.
Likewise, he has offered details of where the money obtained will be destined thanks to this concert.
It will be for the new facilities located in La Vaguada.
It will create twenty-five new places for residents and seventy-two for users of the day center.
The concert is just one of the events that the General Air Academy has to commemorate this anniversary.
The colonel director of the academy, Miguel Iborra, has offered a brief review of the history of the academy and has listed the different events that are scheduled: a photography exhibition, a central act on May 11, on days 9 and 10 of June, the air festival;
in addition to celebrating on September 14, a gala for the 75th anniversary.
