The integration of the Office of Congress in Cartagena Port of Cultures is bearing its first fruits, since the number of companies collaborating with this organization has grown 13% in two months, from 37 to 42.
The mayor and president of Cartagena Port of Cultures, Ana Belén Castejón, has expressed her satisfaction for the good response from local companies and has indicated that this way "it is corroborated that the decision we adopted was appropriate.
The tourism sector of Congresses is increasingly important and Cartagena has the means and with a cultural, patrimonial and natural offer that makes it an exceptional destination ".
CLOSED 19 CONGRESSES
On the other hand, there are already 19 congresses closed for this year with the expected attendance of 4,280 people.
This figure will be increased over the next few months because the negotiations continue.
Among the congresses that are already closed, the XIX National Congress of the Spanish Association of Autism Professionals will be held, which will be held in November at El Batel and attended by 1,400 attendees;
the XII National Congress of Associations Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Our Father Jesus of Medinaceli, which will be from May 31 to June 2 at the CIM with an expected attendance of 100 people;
the Spanish Coffee Congress, which will bring together 200 people at La Manga Club in May;
the III National Semergen medicine and new technologies conference, which will be held at the Hospital del Rosell from May 31 to June 2;
and the National Congress of the Value of Women, which will be held in Batel in June and will have 440 attendees.
In addition, from Cartagena Port of Cultures, promotion and commercialization actions have been intensified and they are already planning to attend more than ten events within the scope of congress tourism to increase their commercial contacts.
Cartagena Port of Cultures is working closely with the Tourism Institute of the Region and with the Batel because coordinating their efforts, the achievements will be greater.
The Congress Office plans to attend 3 fam trips so that families and companies can get to know Cartagena as a congress destination.
Specifically, in May it will act with the tourism institutions of the Region;
in June with the national agencies and in September with companies and agencies.
All the commercial actions focus on the national scope in a majority way, although work is also being done on internationalization with countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
PRESENCE AT FAIRS
Port of Cultures has prepared a complete calendar of fairs that will be attended by the representatives of the Office of Congresses.
In December we attended the Iberian Mice Forum, which is an event held in Madrid.
In May, it will participate in the IMEX in Frankfurt, which is the first expo holiday congress fair, to which the Congress Office will attend with a stand shared with El Batel.
In June he will be at the Malaga fair, which is exclusively focused on the French market;
in October at the Oporto MFI, in Portugal;
in November at the IBTM in Barcelona;
and in December at Iberian Tenerife.
The objective of the Office of Tourism and Cartagena Port of Cultures is to focus its action on events that attract the largest possible number of congressmen to Cartagena.
In addition, commercial visits will be held for institutions in the region to know the Batel and know what can be done in Cartagena.
