Patrimony places new informative posters in several deposits of the coast (02/03/2018)

The Councilor for Culture and Heritage, David Martínez, has visited the new informative signage placed in various archaeological sites such as: the pool of Castillico, next to Villas Caravaning;

the Roman villa of Paturro, in Portman and in the Amoladeras, at the entrance of La Manga del Mar Menor.

Martínez said that "the disclosure of Archaeological Heritage is one of the most relevant lines of action of this Department, for this reason and in collaboration with the area of ​​Tourism, information posters have been placed in three of the most prominent sites in the area coastal. "

In all of them, a uniform and functional design has been made, suitable for the coastal area in which they are located, with a weather-resistant exhibition support and with few maintenance problems, as with the vertical supports of treated wood to avoid deterioration.

The contents supervised by the coordination of Archaeological Heritage, combine the informative nature with scientific rigor and in the bilingual Spanish / English texts the singularity of the deposits is explained with images of the most significant elements coming from them.

He has also visited the emblematic site of Torre Ciega, where he has placed a new explanatory sign that includes its constructive and historical features, providing as a novelty the images of the turriform monument from the 18th century to the present day, in the surrounding flowerbed it is also has made a replanting with ornamental plants adapted to the environment.

The visit has ended at the José Hierro boulevard, where the councilor has contemplated the new signage on the lectern and the recent restoration of the façade walls on the sides of the Roman road, which has been recently named as Salvius Calzada in reference to the Roman domus of this character who was accessed by the paved road with large limestone slabs.

MAINTENANCE AND REPOSITION OF INFORMATIVE POSTERS

On the other hand, from the council also contemplates the maintenance and cleaning of the posters previously placed in various sites, for this reason is going to make a systematic review of them, checking both integrity and cleanliness.

In addition, last week has proceeded to replace all the posters of the Archaeological Park Molinete, without any cost to the City, applying at its base a new polymer more resistant to temperature changes.
