The Cartagena Futuro association organizes a new edition of Los Culturales, the XXIII, in which he will remember the figure of the famous Cartagena actor Isidoro Máiquez.
As usual, the classroom of culture of the Pedreño House (Icue) will host this act from eight in the afternoon of next Monday, February 26.
For this new appointment, Cartagena Futuro brings together prominent personalities such as the official chronicler of the city and historian, Luis Miguel Pérez Adán;
the also Cartagena actor Enrique Escudero;
and the representative of the Chamber and Essay Theater Isidoro Máiquez, Juan José Muñoz.
Also, the act will be moderated by the president of the association, Ignacio Borgoñós.
In this way, the attendees, who will have free access until the capacity is completed, will be able to enjoy the presentations that will bring different points of view, both about the own Máiquez and of the Cartagena society of the time.
Key figure of theater and interpretation
As pointed out by Borgoñós, Cartagena Futuro "wants to pay homage to this illustrious Cartagena, a key figure of theater and interpretation from the second half of the eighteenth century, placing Máiquez in the history of the national scene, also serving as an example for posterity. "
A sample of its greatness is that it was portrayed by Francisco de Goya in 1807, a painting that is kept in the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
He also has a sculpture in his hometown, while he has been remembered by other personalities such as Alcalá Galiano, the dramatist Moratín or the writer Pérez Galdós.
