Ten new teaching centers of the Municipality of Cartagena have signed the protocol of adhesion to the Cartagena City Cardio-Protected Project.
The act took place last Wednesday, February 21, in the Assembly Hall of the Security Park, with the assistance of the councilors of Sustainable Development and Public Function and Culture, Education and Youth, Francisco Aznar and David Martinez, respectively.
According to Francisco Aznar, this signature culminates a series of actions carried out by the Cartagena City Cardio-Protected City Project, in which training is offered, aimed at students from all schools and the provision of defibrillators.
The defibrillators in these ten educational centers are added to the four already installed.
In addition, they are provided with information signs and signs of their location.
The teachers of the selected educational centers have taken training courses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of DEA (defibrillator).
These courses have been held in the facilities of the ESPAC (School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena).
In this way, the City manages to optimize its own resources: These defibrillators will be during the school calendar in educational centers and in summer time on the beaches of the municipality.
This is possible through the collaboration of the departments of Interior and Education, Civil Protection and Fire.
The fourteen educational centers are at the same time centers of dissemination and knowledge in their area of action, district or deputation, since the defibrillator can be used in case of need by anyone close to it.
