The 4,100 euros, from the euro that was included for this purpose in the registration fee XVI Cross Artillery, have been delivered to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).

This amount will be destined, above all, to the investigation of the disease.

In the sports event held on Sunday, November 19, more than 4,000 participants registered.

The donation of the check was made today, Monday, February 19, at the facilities of the Military Government attending the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez;

the colonel of the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73, Enrique María Silvela;

and the spokesperson of the Local Board of the AECC, Nazarena Balaguer.

The councilor has expressed, in this act, the disposition that the City Council of Cartagena always has to collaborate with all the entities that are dedicated to carry out some social action, charity and solidarity.

In addition, he took advantage of the occasion to congratulate the Artillery Regiment for "the good organization of the event, for excelling in quality and number of participants, year after year".

And he has appreciated the great work done by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).

As for the destination of the donation, the spokesperson of the Local Board of the AECC of Cartagena, Nazarena Balaguer, said that 90 percent of all they raise goes to research projects.

Although it has also explained that the local board has to self-finance to carry out training activities, a program for welcoming sick and family, workshops, etc.

Balaguer added that all the aid is small and that the association needs volunteers in Cartagena.

For his part, Colonel Enrique María Silvela has said that the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment feels very proud to be able to contribute with the Spanish Association Against Cancer, "it is a pride to be able to help and collaborate in all these solidarity initiatives that stand out so much in the Murcia region and in Cartagena ".
