The Agrupación Musical Sauces de Cartagena won last Saturday, February 17, the first prize in the VII Regional Festival of Bands 'Ciudad de Cieza'.
The bands of Alcantarilla and Totana were also in the contest.
The participating bands interpreted a non-scoring presentation pasodoble, a work of free choice and the obligatory work that was 'The Ghost Ship', by José Alberto Pina from Cartagena.
The musician, who attended the contest, said he was very happy about the success that his last work was having worldwide and the momentum that is being given to the bands of the Region for their growth.
The court, formed by Professor José Miguel Rodilla, Juan José Navarro and Pascual Marín González, awarded 2,000 euros to the winner, 1,500 to the second classified and 1,000 euros to third place, plus 500 euros in assistance to each of the bands .
José Alberto Pina himself described the interpretation of Cartagena as "sublime".
In addition, the Councilor for Culture of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, moved his congratulations to the band and said he was "very proud" for the award and representation of Cartagena at the regional level.
In addition, the council announced that he hopes that next year this event will be held in Cartagena.
