The elderly of the Centers of Day Stays of El Algar and Los Dolores, dependent of the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, celebrated the carnival with the visit of a comparsa of adults and the realization of a mask workshop.
In Los Dolores the visit of the Comparsa 'Las Salerosas' was received, while in the Center of Day Stays for Elderly 'Alfonso Escámez' of El Algar, a Workshop of Masks was given.
The Comparsa 'Las Salerosas' of the Elderly Club of Miranda visited the CED of Los Dolores.
This group was the winner of the 'Best Elaboration' award at the Carnival Gala last Friday, February 9th.
Las Salerosas had made their own costumes themselves, set in the Revista Española.
On this visit they performed the choreographies prepared with the musical themes of Concha Velasco and Sara Montiel.
The performance was very popular with the public, composed of the users of this service, family members and carers,
At the end of the performance, they danced with many of them, they sang and talked with everyone affectionately, turning the morning into a space full of color, joy and music that not only the adults enjoyed, but also the Comparsa visitors with their instructor, the coordinator and assistant staff.
In parallel, at the Center for Day Care for the Elderly 'Alfonso Escámez' of El Algar, a Mask Workshop was held to acclimate its near twenty users in these Carnival celebrations.
The elders made colorful masks with bright materials, which later would make up a beautiful mural in the Center, displaying their creativity and exercising psychomotor skills.

The center of El Algar will celebrate the IX Anniversary of its opening on March 14, offering the performances of the Comparsa Las Salerosas and the 'Asociación Trovera José María Marín', of La Palma.
