The work to correct the deficiencies of the Sports Palace continues.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, together with the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez and the Councilor for Infrastructures, Juan Pedro Torralba visited the afternoon of this Friday, February 16, the sports facilities to meet, from the hands of the technicians , what actions are being taken.
After the visit, in which they have toured the sports facilities, Ana Belén Castejón has marked three main objectives for his government: finalize the small details that are missing in the Auxiliary Runway, move the dependencies of the Department of Sports to the Palace, besides studying and budget the deficiencies, especially security, that exist in the Central Court.
Once the tour of the tracks, the mayor has been satisfied with the work that has been done in the Auxiliary Runway, "I have been able to verify that the work that was entrusted to me when I arrived at the city hall has been carried out, and that the effect ", has declared.
In this track there are very few details for it to be at full capacity.
As for the Central Court, the work to correct the security deficiencies is still to begin.
The mayor said that next week will meet with Infrastructure and Sports technicians to jointly study the actions that are necessary to prepare the track, especially in terms of safety.
Lacking also the installation of a new parquet and installing the markers.
"This can not be the palace of horrors, it has to be the sports palace of all Cartagena," stressed the councilor.
In this regard the mayor has said that they will perform these actions to "be able to tell all the citizens of Cartagena and all the sports world that Cartagena has in its Sports Palace and its main track completed."
Then he plans to meet with the construction company to see the breaches that have been given, "from there I will take the measures that can be taken, and all with legal advice that says legal advice."
The mayor has expressed all the will to put this project forward, despite being a legacy they received from a previous government.
"It is true that two years go a long way but, I promise that in the remaining months of the term, with great will, and defining very well each specific action we will take it forward."
TRANSFER OF THE SPORTS COUNCIL
It has also been studied the possibility that the Department of Sports can be moved shortly to the premises of the Palace.
The facilities are prepared in the absence of only two basic issues: the furniture and the conditioning of heating and air conditioning.
