On Thursday, February 15, the City Council of Cartagena hosted a new meeting of the Commission to Follow up on the cleaning contract, which was chaired by the Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and attended by the Councilor for Municipal Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, accompanied by the technicians of the council, as well as the representatives of the company Lhicarsa.

In this meeting the mayor told the representatives of the concessionaire the urgency to immediately start the plan of clashes in neighborhoods and councils, so it was agreed that these works will begin in the neighborhoods of Los Dolores and Ensanche next February 26 .

Ana Belén Castejón also moved to those present the neighborhood complaints that the Consistory is receiving due to the noise made by the cleaning machines that work during the night.

For its part, the company reported an investment of 1.5 million euros by FCC to replace the obsolete machinery with a more modern and silent one.

This renovation will be carried out, according to Lhicarsa, between the months of April and June;

and will include two scrubbers, two high pressure cleaners, a truck sweeper and several blowers.

All these actions are the result of the demands made by the Municipal Government to the concessionaire, insisting on the need to improve the service in order to keep all corners of the municipality clean.
