The Cruise Excellence Awards Gala was held at El Batel for the second year in a row (16/02/2018)

Cartagena hosted the XI Awards Cruise Excellence Awards attended by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Tourism, Carmen Martín, of the municipal corporation, together with Regional Government officials, among whom was the Minister of Tourism, Javier Celdrán;

and the counselor of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo.

The gala was held on Thursday, February 15, in the UPCT auditorium at the Muralla del Mar.

Ana Belén Castejón addressed the attendees to welcome them.

Among the words he addressed to the public encourage them to visit Cartagena.

The mayor listed the reasons why it was worth knowing the city, among which were its heritage, its cultural, its natural history and also, for its gastronomy.

The awards are held annually to recognize the work of its protagonists, and whose winners are chosen by the cruise passengers themselves.

The stage to celebrate the gala was, for the second consecutive year, the El Batel de Cartagena Auditorium and Conference Center that hosted more than three hundred people.

Cartagena Port of Cultures, was one of the entities that saw their work rewarded with a special recognition of the Port of Cartagena.

The manager of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas, Agustina Martínez, gratefully acknowledged the distinction.

The Cruise Excellence Awards are the result of a cruise survey, which gives a special value to the results, as it is the assessment of the users themselves.

In 2015 the edition registered more than 5,000 respondents.

The delivery was attended by national executives from the main shipping companies, ports, auxiliary industry, tourist services, travel agencies, tour operators, public administrations, press, promotion entities and cruise ship users.
