The regional chief executive, Fernando López Miras, today received the appointment of 'Processionist of Honor', awarded by the Association of the Year of Cartagena, during an event that took place today at the Palacio de Aguirre, and where the president of this association, Santiago Díaz, gave him a painting with said appointment.

In addition to the 'Procesiónista de Honor Prize', the Processionist Association of the Year of Cartagena also awards the 'Processionist of the Year Award' annually to a prominent Cartagena cofrade.

In 2018 its XXXVII edition is celebrated, and the prizewinner has been Domingo Andrés Bastida Martínez, until a few months ago Big Brother of the Marraja brotherhood.
