The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and several representatives of the Brotherhood of Calvary, have met this morning with the aim of communicating to the mayor that next Sunday, February 18, will proclaim her godmother of the brotherhood.
The Elder Brother of the Virgen del Calvario Brotherhood, Juan Antonio Ayala, has confirmed that the reason for the meeting was to transfer to the mayor that the Ladies Board of the Brotherhood has approved her appointment as godmother at 12:30 in the Sanctuary of Calvary.
TRADITIONAL ROMERY IN HONOR OF THE VIRGIN OF CALVARY
On March 11 will take place the traditional pilgrimage of the Virgen del Calvario.
The day will begin at 8:30 in El Rosario, and at 9:00 a.m. the farewell Eucharist will take place.
Later, the Virgin will be prepared to go out in Romería at 10 o'clock.
The route according to Ayala will travel through the neighborhood of Santa Lucia until you reach the hospital roundabout, passing by Lo Campano, after which you will proceed along a path that will reach the esplanade of the Hermita del Calvario sanctuary.
There, the Elder Brother indicated that there will be an altar prepared for an outdoor Eucharist together with a rociero choir.
Once it is over, the Virgin will be chanted and saved again in the hermit.
Ayala has planned an attendance of around 3,000 people to the Pilgrimage.
