The approval of the Transitory Rules will allow the expansion of Escombreras and more than 600 new homes in Cartagena (15/02/2018)

The Escombreras Valley will be able to expand its business fabric and 600 new homes will be able to be built, in the central metropolitan area of ​​Cartagena, when the Regional Governing Council green lights the transitory norms of the municipality of Cartagena.

The norms have been approved this Thursday, February 15, in the Technical Commission of Transitory Norms.

The commission was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

the general secretary of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, Yolanda Muñoz;

the mayor of the area of ​​Sustainable Development and Public Function, Francisco Aznar;

and the general coordinator of Sustainable Development, Ángeles López;

together with regional and local technicians.

The technical committee, made up of technicians and legal experts from the regional and municipal administrations, has finalized the document.

Now begins the process of approval of the transitory rules by the Government Council, after the period of public exposure.

For the general secretary of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, Yolanda Muñoz, the document approved this Thursday, February 15, will resolve in the short and medium term urban doubts, which will allow a development in the short and medium term.

"A standard is needed that reflects the factual reality of the city of Cartagena and has been developed and collected with this transitory rule in the technical committee."

BEFORE SPRING

Regarding the dates on which these rules will take effect, Ana Belén Castejón has stated that, "the final approval has to be on the regional agenda and must be a priority so that it is approved as soon as possible.

That the Governing Council approve it with agility and that we can say, before the beginning of the spring that the rules have a green light ".

When they come into force one of the main beneficiaries will be the companies that are established in the Valley of Escombreras and want to expand, renew.

In the transitory norms the building conditions are modified: height and separation of boundaries, which will allow the existing company to expand.

NEW BUSINESS INITIATIVES

It will also allow the arrival of new business initiatives that decide to settle in the valley, and that they have not been able to do with the current norm of 1987. When it is finally approved, three investments that would add 33 million euros to the municipality of Cartagena could be unblocked.

As regards urban development, thirteen actions in the municipality would be unblocked.

Viability would be given to urban land projects, mainly in the central metropolitan area of ​​Cartagena, where projects worth an estimated 100 million euros would be accommodated.

"When they are launched generate revenue to the municipal coffers through the Icio", stressed Castejón and also mean "a reactivation in the labor market, and the housing market with the estimated construction of more than 600 homes."

It also includes the protection of environmental elements necessary in the field of urban land.

The rules regulates and collects a complete disposition of an environmental catalog that includes a catalog of trees, of natural spaces, of natural network, of flora, of historical trees.

It also includes a catalog of cultural and artistic heritage.

MEASURES REQUESTED BY CITIZENSHIP

Castejón has congratulated the municipal and regional technicians for their joint work because the standards are in accordance with the reality that we have to manage.
