Under the slogan 'Women, Men and Equality', professionals from the social field of health, education and culture of the neighborhoods of the Historic District and Sector Station of the city of Cartagena will be participating in the II Conference on Education and Community Health from Wednesday 14 until Sunday, February 25.
The inauguration of these days was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, along with the representative of the Obra Social 'la Caixa', Carlos Merelo Fos;
the representative of the Cepaim Foundation, Pedro López López;
and the Deputy Director of Nursing of Health Area II, María José Alonso Saez.
The City of Cartagena collaborates to organize this event through the councils of Social Services and Social Mediation, Equality, Education and Youth.
During these ten days a wide program will be developed with activities promoted by 17 entities that actively participate in the Inercultural Community Process.
These talks will highlight the work they have been doing in the technical spaces created, such as those of the Community Education and Culture Board and the Community Health Board.
Workshops, talks and activities for children and adults will fill the schedule of these days.
To attend all activities that require prior registration must be made at the San Diego Social Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. by calling 661105659 or sending an email to cmartinez@cepaim.org or ilopez @ cepaim .org.
The main objective is to respond to one of the main problems of society: Gender Equality.
On this occasion, the participating entities have chosen to address the active role of men as agents of change in the reality surrounding situations of gender violence.
Health, as explained by the mayor of Cartagena, is not simply the absence of pathologies, but "feel free and be happy", which is why the II Conference on Education and Community Health will focus on gender equality and in the health of women.
