The older maroon ex-brother, Domingo Bastida, was elected this afternoon as Processionist of the Year 2018, by a jury chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
The jury, in which prominent personalities of the Semana Santa from Cartagena are integrated, who make up the Prize Foundation, and previous processionists of the year, has valued the extensive curriculum of the honoree, at 59 years of age;
his humble, close and dialoguing personality, and the different initiatives set in motion as he passes through the different responsibilities he has had in the brotherhood.
Dedicated in body and soul to Holy Week, in 1980, in the midst of adolescence, he was named the youngest consignee of the Marraja Brotherhood.
He has been a script, vice archivist, general commissioner, president of the Nazarene Jesus and finally older brother, between the years 2011 to 2017.
As is traditional the appointment has been communicated by the mayor, the honoree approached the halls of the Economic, where he has received the personal congratulations of all its members.
The Processionist of the Year is one of the three most important appointments of the Holy Week in Cartagena, together with the Town Crier and the Nazarene Mayor.
