Cs and Jcs Region promote an act to explain the program 'Talent Return' and export it to other municipalities (09/02/2018)

- Manuel Padín: Cartagena can be the regional spearhead for the return of talent

The Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena has attended today an event that has promoted in the Palacio de Molina with technicians of the Youth Council to explain to Young Citizens in the Region of Murcia (Jcs Region) how the amendment of Cs is being implemented to the municipal budgets of 2017 to create the 'Return of Talent to Cartagena' program.

It is the first project of return of talent that is carried out at the municipal level in the Community and its objective is to strengthen the bond between young Cartagena people who were forced to look for their future outside their land and generate opportunities, favoring contact between professionals who want to return and local companies, or regional ones, that demand talent and international experience.

The local spokesman of Citizens, Manuel Padín, has welcomed those present, thanked the Mayor of Cartagena and the Youth Council for the interest shown in the project and explained the reasons that led his group to take this proposal to Cartagena, "we want to generate new contracting opportunities, improve the professional teams of our companies and promote internationalization and entrepreneurial vocation."

Padín also believes that there is a social dimension that "has to do with family reunification and the recovery of the bond of these people with Cartagena."

In the Region, nobody has undertaken the writing of a program of these characteristics, "and in Ciudadanos we believe that Cartagena can be the regional spearhead of this initiative, which is exportable to other municipalities, for that reason, we have invited this act to the platform of Young Citizens in the Region of Murcia so that, through them, among others, we are in a position to extend this plan to the rest of town councils, "said Manuel Padín.

Municipal workers have recalled that this program was included in the last Governing Board and for it there is allocated a multi-year expenditure for the year 2018 and 2019, and that everything is ready to develop it.

In addition, they reported that they hope to get in a first phase the contact between the City Council and a large community of professionals who had to leave their land and who want to return, who will be offered personalized advice through a team of mediators.

Once the community is created, contact will be made with companies in Cartagena as well as the publication of job offers adjusted to the training of these professionals.

The program includes the design and development of a website in which all the project information will be collected.

The technicians also announced that they are working to complete a map of the public resources available in Youth, including both the professionals who can participate in the program and the services to be provided.

The municipal technicians have highlighted the importance of promoting an ambitious communication plan for promotion and recruitment, to attract those who want to return and make the project known to both the business community and society in general.

In spite of the fact that the program has not been taken to the Contracting Committee and a company is in charge of its development, the technicians advanced that, when the project is more advanced, they want to organize a meeting between the responsible parties that win the award, the interested companies, and other City Councils where a project like this is being carried out successfully, such as Valladolid or San Sebastián.
