The Regional Museum of Modern Art of Cartagena (Muram) opens today (20:00 hours) the exhibition 'Between boxes', by the Peruvian painter based in Murcia Araceli Reverte, which can be visited in this space of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment until May 6.
The attic is the space chosen to exhibit more than 20 works made during 2017, including eight large and medium size pictures of ink on paper and 14 drawings and sketches of watercolor, pencil and ink on paper, as well as two sketching notebooks and notes.
The General Director of Cultural Assets, Juan Antonio Lorca, presented the exhibition today with the artist, who highlighted "his delicacy when addressing the female nude."
The works show the recent work of Reverte and "allow us to get closer to their creation process, since there are several sketches and notebooks that complement the sample".
'Entre cajas' is a tribute to people linked to theater, music and dance.
The central axis of the sample is the nude;
a classic theme in the art world that Reverte addresses with a modern language, which highlights the use of chiaroscuro, the degradation of color and the skill of the painter in the execution and composition of the works.
Through the exposed pieces, Reverte seeks to reflect a realistic vision and representation, putting the focus on the body instead of on the face and abandoning the most romantic visions of femininity.
In them, the viewer can discover beauty, harmony and serenity.
Juan Antonio Lorca stressed that "from the Ministry we try to support the creators of the Region, opening the doors of museums and spaces and promoting other initiatives, plans and grants that contribute to the dissemination of their work, and that allow them to put new ongoing projects, thus contributing to the strengthening of Murcian culture and bringing it closer to the whole society ".

His exhibition, 'Corpus', has recently been expanded, due to its success, and will close its doors in mid-March.
Likewise, until the 4th of March, the exhibition 'Esculturas de Dalí' remains open, showing a score of pieces by one of the greatest Spanish creators in history.
Thus, "Muram's interest in combining the works of artists from the region with those of consolidated national authors in their halls, trying to reach a broad audience and always betting on quality," added Lorca.
