More than 300 athletes participated Thursday, February 8 in the program 'Playing Athletics' held in the Municipal Pavilion in the youngest category.
These activities are developed within the Program of Physical Activity and Sports in School Age organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena in collaboration with the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia.
Twenty-nine schools in the municipality met in this edition with teams in men and women: Los Alumbres, Asdrúbal, Leonardo da Vinci, Santiago Apóstol, Salesians, Adorers, Virgin of Begoña, Marists, Luis Calandre, La Asomada, San Isidro Los Belones, San Isidoro El Algar, Vicente Ros, Garden City, Narval, La Concepción, Fernando Garrido, Virgen del Carmen, Poet Antonio Oliver, Azorín, Virginia Pérez, La Vaguada, Santa Florentina, Aníbal, San Fulgencio, San Antonio Abad, San Cristóbal, Miralmonte and Stella Maris.
The Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Athletics Club El Cano and the Athletics Club Cartagena have coordinated a device composed of technicians of the Department of Sports, athletics judges, volunteers TAFAD IES Mediterranean and buses for the displacement of participants and teachers.
During the day there were tests of various kinds such as 10x10 meters race, soft javelin throw, jumps together, medical ball throw, obstacle side jump, 5x2 and 5x1 relays and grand prix.
The classifications were:

4th La Vaguada

2º La Vaguada
3rd San Cristóbal
4th Virgen del Carmen
The first two classified schools will represent Cartagena in the Regional Final to be held on March 1 in Alcantarilla.
