The students of 4th, 5th and 6th grade of CEIP Alumbres participated last Monday, February 5 in a day of athletics on the sports center track of the educational center through the ADE Program of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Club de Athletics Elcano.
The first part of this morning session was held in the school gymnasium, where the students had a meeting with the president of Elcano Club, Alfredo Castilla.
The president informed them of the work that the club is doing in base athletics.
The students were very interested in the different aspects of athletics and asked several questions to Castilla.
Subsequently, the youngsters practiced sports on the center's multi-sports track in the 'Playing athletics' format, adapted to speed, jumps, pitches and relays.
Each one of the students participated in the different tests and modalities of adapted athletics.
The activity 'Playing athletics' is included in the ADE Program, which aims to bring schoolchildren to sports.
This program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sports of the Autonomous Community.
