The Central Independent Trade Union and Officials (CSIF) of Cartagena, has inaugurated, this Thursday, February 1, a new headquarters in Cartagena more spacious and modern, located on Juan Fernandez Street, number 2, which will provide better service to its members.
The president of the Region, Fernando López;
the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the president of the Autonomic Union, Juan Miguel López;
the counselor of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo;
and spokespersons for the municipal groups of the City of Cartagena, have come to know the new headquarters and congratulate them for their work in favor of workers' rights.
Ana Belén Castejón has taken the opportunity to congratulate the union for this new headquarters, which will provide better service to its members.
Castejón recalled that the CSIF has a clear presence among the workers of the City Council and that the same concern for the workers is shared by the government that he directs.
According to what he has demonstrated, he is demonstrating with facts, "after years of budget cuts, crises and an adjustment plan to control the deficit and the debt, in the City of Cartagena public employment had not been created, so we have a very reduced staff that had to be modernized ".
Castejón has commented that because of this situation urgent action was needed to give citizens a City Council that will work quickly and effectively.
With the modernization of the workforce, the intention is to provide stability in employment, with the 370 places that were pending from 2014 to 2016, as the councilor explained, "for this reason a few months ago the first 5 officials took office, after More than 10 years ago, and just a few hours ago, 42 new civil servants took office, who passed the tests for the Administrative Assistant of the City of Cartagena, on June 25. "
The next step in the creation of public employment are the 84 offers for staff of the city council to obtain official positions, through internal promotion.
Finally, he stated that he shares with the unions the conviction that workers must carry out their work in the best, most dignified and appropriate conditions.
