The Commission of Inquiry to review the accounts of the Sea of ​​Music has today celebrated the fifth session in the Administrative Building of San Miguel.
This Commission was supported in July by all political parties in the municipal Plenary of the City of Cartagena, and aims to investigate the accounts of the last five editions of the La Mar de Músicas Festival (2012-2016).
The Commission of the Sea of ​​Music is chaired by the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, and she has attended today the Councilor responsible for Culture, David Martinez, MC councilor, Isabel Garcia, the Popular Party councilor, Esperanza Nieto , the spokesperson of CTSSP-Podemos, Pilar Marcos and the secretary of the Commission, María Dolores Martínez.
The president of the Commission has reported that although it has been agreed not to give many details so as not to hinder the research work, "we can say that we are making good progress through the analysis of the documentation that has been gone gathering, that is to say, the files of the departments of treasury, contracting and diverse reports of Intervention of the last five editions of the festival ".
Manuel Padín recalled that in the previous session, the members of the committee considered necessary the inclusion of external advisors, detached from La Mar de Músicas, to clarify certain technical issues regarding the exclusivity and hiring of musical groups, "we are trying to deepen and know the reality of this sector, is a very complex issue, because many years, many hiring, many people who have intervened, and that is why we wanted to advise today with this expert person, an artist representative and music promoter "
Manuel Padín recalled that the purpose of this committee is "to check if before the doubts expressed by some groups in the Plenary the management has been adequate, transparent and logical and that the costs attend to the reality of the executed, that there is not, for example, duplicities in the collection of some work ".
On the occasion of the statement released today by the Cartagena PP, Manuel Padin recalled that "the Popular Party councilors voted in favor of the establishment of this Commission of Inquiry, if they did not believe it was necessary they should have voted in another way, and I advise you not to get nervous, if you have not done anything that you have to repent this Commission will not dictate anything against you, and if they are bothered by the investigation committees just have to abandon them, nobody is here by obligation.
"We are not going to allow investigative commissions to be used as a political weapon, not at least the one we preside over," said Padín, who has denied what the Popular Party said. "I can assure you that our Municipal Group is analyzing all the documentation available in this commission and taking good note ".
Finally, the spokesman of Cs has assured that "if at some point we believe that this commission is not going anywhere, we will not waste the time of the councilors of this Corporation and we will propose without further delay its completion and conclusion".
"If the convocation of the Commission has been delayed, it has been due to the impossibility of specifying a date for the appearance via telematics with certain musical promoters and other professionals of the branch to clarify some procedures", clarified the spokesman of Cs Cartagena.
