The MC Cartagena municipal group will question in the next plenary about the reasons why it has been discarded and ignored the proposal for the year 2018 to be declared by the Mayor 'Year of Romanticism and Constitutionalism, as proposed by the previous councilor of Culture and Heritage of the City Council, Ricardo Segado, through a document endorsed by the municipal coordinator of Patrimonio and three of the official chroniclers of the city.

In this way, the mayor will request clarification of the reasons that led the Socialist City Hall to put aside this proposal, also remembering that during the period 2015-2017, as mayor José López, two periods of great social importance were remembered, cultural and heritage for Cartagena, such as Modernism, in 2016, and the Enlightenment, last year.

The mentioned commemorations supposed a success at the tourist and cultural level, counting also with the direct implication of the public universities of the Region, as well as of the museums of Cartagena and of associations of diverse draft.

Similarly, Segado recalled that "with the aim of continuing with this line, MC proposed, through the area of ​​Culture and Heritage, that 2018 be dedicated to Romanticism and Constitutionalism, all because they esteemed and supported it, with a rich historical argument, the official chroniclers of the city and the municipal coordinator of Patrimony, Mari Carmen Berrocal ".

In this sense, the councilor of MC Cartagena has ensured that this initiative "far from being addressed, has been ignored and ignored by the current Mayor, which is detrimental to our culture and our past, which should become our future."

Finally, Ricardo Segado has pointed out that "maybe the Government wants this year, instead of being the Romanticism or another glorious time for Cartagena, be the 'Year of Hydrogea' or the 'Water Turbid'."
